My Annotation on 'Shalom'
What a powerful blog post this would be to explore one day! For now, here is a brief explanation of shalom:
Throughout the Scriptures, the word shalom is most commonly used to refer to a state of affairs, one of well‑being, tranquility, prosperity, and security, circumstances unblemished by any sort of defect. Shalom is a blessing, a manifestation of divine grace. In the beginning shalom was in perfect balance. We truly had heaven upon earth. You see, at that time there was no warfare. Shalom refers to the antithesis of all things connected to war, anger, malice, deceit, and death.
If you'd like you can explore a few of these verses yourself:
Ecclesiastes 3:8
Zechariah 8:16
Malachi 2:6
